ABOUT
Cass Hopetoun Bio (380 words)
She’s shared the stage with many of the country’s top acts, scored multiple radio #1s and notched 3 Golden Guitar nominations. Australian Country songbird, Cass Hopetoun, crafts authentic songs of fun and empowerment with a breathtaking voice and a whole lotta sass.
When Cass Hopetoun burst onto the scene as the tequila touting party girl behind the catchy hit, ‘Shots’, she made it clear she plays by her own rules. With a sound drawing from various genres, her empowering music is undeniably Country, yet unlike any of her peers.
She soon let us know she’s here to stay with the defiant and provocative follow up, ‘Typical Bride’, which flew to the #1 spot on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay chart.
The trajectory continued in 2021 with a ‘New Talent of The Year’ Golden Guitar nomination, two Tamworth Songwriter’s Association (TSA) awards and more hit singles - Who Needs Hawaii (#1 KIX Country & CMT charts) and Say The Word - a duet with troubadour, Andrew Swift. The former earned the new star her second Golden Guitar nomination and saw her perform live at the Awards in Tamworth.
She showed no signs of slowing down with her debut 13 track album, ‘Not Your Typical Bride’, arriving in 2022, which included the hit single, ‘Chinese Whispers’ (#1 CMT Chart). What followed was a slew of touring. Opening slots for The Whitlams and Jayne Denham filled the calendar as well as stellar appearances at festivals all over Australia - TCMF, NQs Rockin Country, Goulburn Valley CMF and Meatstock.
In amidst welcoming a baby girl in 2023, alongside husband and collaborator, Blake Dantier, Cass still found time to hit the road. Casino’s Beef Week Festival and Cruisin’ Country proved to be highlights for the singer-songwriter. All this while receiving her third consecutive nomination for ‘New Talent of The Year’ – a feat rarely seen in the history of the awards.
In 2024 Cass Hopetoun unveils her first new music in nearly two years; the catchy new single, ‘To Be A Lady’. The timely track, released on International Women’s Day, is everything fans love about Cass; thought provoking, sassy and catchy as hell. The singer-songwriter has once again breathed fresh air into Australian Country music, with a relatable and fun track that is certain to empower and inspire.
