Blue Mountains & Online Singing Lessons
Cass has been studying voice for over 10 years and am extremely passionate about the act of singing itself and teaching others how to unlock their singing potential. She studied Musical Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts and also NIDA (National Theatre of Dramatic Arts) and is currently a full time professional singer/artist.
Her debut single 'Shots'(released March 2020) reached #4 on the Australian Country Music Airplay Charts and has received 110000 streams on Spotify so far. As an original artist she's had so many fantastic opportunities to perform all over Australia; most recently she supported Casey Donovan at Australia's first Drive-In Concert. Cass believes that having a teacher that is also working as a professional performer is vital. That way they can bring a whole wealth of information not just on singing technique but, real life experience as a vocal performer as well.
Over the past couple of years Cass have expanded her singing technique study and began working with the Estil Method. In 2017 I completed study of levels 1 & 2.
Her lessons cover: singing for leisure, exams, HSC performance, auditions, performances etc. Masterclasses or intensives for HSC can be arranged, contact Cass to learn more about this.
She specialises in HSC Preparation lessons, audition prep/technique, performance technique/stage craft, plus singing in the musical theatre and country genres.
Ages 12 and up welcome! All styles covered as well. Absolute beginners to advanced.
Cass tries to make her lessons a good mix between professional and fun. Expect to work hard but, have a looooot of fun whilst doing so :)
Due to COVID-19 Cass is currently teaching online via zoom. Positive? You can now have lessons with Cass no matter where you are in Australia (or the world!).
All through her childhood and into her early years of professional singing, my singing lessons were the most memorable part of her week. I try to make this so for all my students I teach today. Lessons with me are focused and professional but, definitely not intense/scary and full of fun :)
In lessons you will work on beginner-advanced technique, performance technique and expanding your repertoire. Students looking to make performing their career or 'side hussle' will be giving career mentorship to help achieve their goals.
Studying Music 1, Music 2, or Extension Music for your HSC?
Cass specialises in students studying music for their HSC with voice as their instrument for practical exams. Over the past few years 90% of her students have received Band 6's for their music exams. As someone that studied Music and Music Extension not that long ago, she loves sharing her knowledge of the experience of the exams as well as working on technique, song selection and performance technique. Marking criteria for HSC Music is different to just 'performing a song', there are guidelines that HSC markers keep to and Cass will make sure to keep up to date with guidelines to make sure her students have the best tools and chance of acquiring their desired mark in the HSC.
As a graduate of a full time musical theatre course and as a seasoned theatre performer on the independent theatre scene, Music Theatre will also hold a special place in Cass' heart. Her training focuses on classical technique, crucial for singers wanting to perform in musicals.
Not only will you learn the same as other students taking singing lessons (technique, vocal health, career mentorship), you will also learn performance techniques specific to music theatre i.e. acting through song, lyric analysis, how to prepare for a theatre audition etc.
